Indira had Warned Rajiv

As you all know that Indira Gandhi was assassinated on 31st 1984. Just a few days before the murder, Indira had Warned Rajiv about Amitabh. It is true that Indira didn’t want Amitabh to come in Politics. The friendship of our former Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi and Bollywood superstar Amitabh Bachchan was quite old. In the cold and foggy January of the year1968, Amitabh had come to receive Sonia Gandhi’s receipt at Palam Airport in Delhi. Sonia was about to become his wife Rajiv Gandhi’s wife. Sonia believed Amitabh and his brother Ajitabh as brothers. This relationship lasted for a long time. Priyanka Gandhi also called Amitabh as ‘Mama’. During the Emergency in the country, Amitabh often used to see Sanjay Gandhi. Because of this, he also had to face the opposition of the media.

Amitabh Bachchan spells the magic of his voice in the opening ceremonies of Asian Games at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium in Delhi in 1982. Rajiv Gandhi was sitting in the first row listening to Amitabh. Amitabh, MP from Allahabad, Uttar Pradesh, left politics after coming to power in the Bofors scam. Many charges were started on them. Amitabh fought against them and won a long fight against the allegations but he ended his life with politics. But there was a time when Indira Gandhi had warned Rajiv Gandhi that she did not bring Amitabh Bachchan into politics.

Why Indira had Warned Rajiv

Amitabh came to visit the Prime Minister on the day of Amitabh Bachchan’s resignation; Fotedar was Rajiv Gandhi’s political secretary. There was a talk between them. Simultaneously, around 2:45 pm, the Prime Minister called the Amitabh. As usual, Amitabh was always seen in kurtas-pajamas. Rajeev and Amitabh went in Sitting on the PM chair. Amitabh on the right and Rajeev sat on the left. After this Rajiv Ji told Amitabh Bachchan that Fotedar wants his resignation. It was a surprise to both for Rajiv and Amitabh Bachchan.

After hearing that, Amitabh Bachchan said that if Fotedarji wants my resignation then I am ready for that. Give me paper and also tell me what I should write. Then he wrote his resignation on the paper.  The resignation was later sent to the President which was accepted. For more Bollywood and politics updates follow on Facebook and Twitter.
