New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched the ambitious Ayushman Bharat Swasthya Bima Yojana on Sunday but five states have refused to implement such scheme. The states who refused to launch this Ayushman Bharat Swasthya Bima Scheme includes Delhi, Kerala, Odisha, Punjab, and Telangana. These states have said that they will not involve in this scheme until they will get a better health insurance plan. Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal has termed this scheme as another white elephant.
On the other side, when the news of the Odisha government rejecting the plan, Prime Minister Narendra Modi attacked the new Patnaik government. PM Modi said that everyone knows the importance of Ayushman Bharat scheme. He alleged that Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik was ignoring the scheme and away from the benefits of the health insurance scheme to the people of Odisha.
Not only this, but the Aam Aadmi Party government in Delhi has also refused to implement the Ayushman Bharat scheme. On this, BJP’s national president Amit Shah attacked Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal. Amit Shah on Sunday said that the decision of the government of Delhi to show you the narrow mindset of Ayushman Bharat.
What is Ayushman Bharat Swasthya Bima Yojana?
The goal of this ambitious plan is to provide coverage of five lakh rupees annually to each family. This will give benefit to 10.74 million poor families. People of these families can admit to the hospitals of the panel as per the secondary and tertiary category. The scheme has changed to name the Prime Minister’s Public Health Campaign. This scheme will provide cashless health services to the beneficiaries. This will reduce the expenses incurred for hospitalization, which makes people poorer.
The plan will add 15,000 hospitals. This is a fact that out of 15 thousand, around 13 thousand hospitals have been added. It is believed that in a country like India where the expensive medical services are making a common man poorer. This scheme can prove to be a game changer for the Modi government.
