Narendra Modi in South Korea: Prime Minister Narendra Modi awarded by the Seoul Peace Prize in South Korea. Narendra Modi is the first Indian person to be honored with this award. On the second day of his visit to South Korea, Prime Minister Narendra Modi paid homage to the martyrs. After which he met South Korea’s President Moon J-in. The prize awarded to Modi Ji by the country’s president. Modi Ji is the first Indian person who has honored with this award.
Seoul president Moon J-in invited PM Narendra Modi to receive the honor of Seoul peace prize. Today PM Modi after receiving the prize say thanks to South Korea’s countrymen to give such kind of an honor to him.
PM Modi conferred with Seoul Peace Prize
Let me tell you that the prestigious Seoul Peace Prize is being given since 1990. This award has so far received personalities like former United Nations Secretary General Kofi Annan, German Chancellor Angela Merkel.
Additionally, a total of 1300 nominations received all over the world for this award. The award’s committee has separated 150 of them. So, Prime Minister Modi was selected out of these 150 candidates. The committee called Prime Minister Narendra Modi “The Perfect Candidate for the 2018 Seoul Peace Prize”.
On the other hand, Prime Minister Modi arrived in South Korea after the terrorist attack in Pulwama for two days trip. He got the support of President Moon J-in the fight against terrorism. South Korean President condemned the Pulwama attack. Agreements between the two countries settled that they will fight against terrorism.
On this occasion, the Prime Minister said that getting the Seoul Peace Prize today is a matter of great honor for me. Moreover, he said that I will accept this honor, not as personal achievements but for the people of India, as a symbol of goodwill and affection for the Korean people.
