In Gujarat, for the 182 seats of the Assembly, 89 seats are going to be the first phase of voting. 977 candidates are in the fray for these seats in Saurashtra and South Gujarat. The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is pushing for power for the fifth time in this election. At the same time Congress is trying to revive in Gujarat.

The second phase will be held on December 14 in the state. 2.12 crore voters will exercise their right in the state. Chief candidates, whose fate will be closed in EVM on Saturday, include Chief Minister Vijay Rupani, Congress’s Shakti Singh Gohil and Paresh Dhani.
